2001.07:05: Well, we just got back from a long weekend getaway. The first of its kind we have been able to go on since the summer started. Although my friends had been to this place before it was a first for myself, my girlfriend and other members of my family. Allow me to introduce you to Booth Landing, 70 KM from North Bay, it was an ideal destination get-away from the city. Here are some scenic shots I took of the area. The sunset was just beautiful, however the clouds got to me before I could catch it fading over the horizon. The cabin we stayed in had a wonderful, rustic feel with an enclosed balcony that overlooked a small beach and the lake. As a point to note, although there were modern facilities for showering etc, I much preferred the old fateful outhouse, next to our cabin..... :) We spent a lot of time outside, either tossing a football around, swimming, lounging with a "cold one", fishing or just plain, taking it easy. The bugs were few and far between because of the cool breeze coming off the lake so my girlfriend and I got away with only a few bites for the weekend. The fishing was nothing short of amazing. Either we were fortunate to have the weather and moon on our side, or the lake has a good stock of fish. My brother landed a 6 pound bass and my buddy Darren caught one of the largest bass in what he claims to be, an extensive fishing career.... The Walleye made for great eating and although I did not catch any, I sure did my share of filleting, cooking and eating. Much thanks to our hosts, Nunzio and Cindy Scarfone for providing us with a great getaway weekend. I know Booth landing will be on our hit list again in the near future. If you would like more information you can visit their site @ www.boothlanding.com See ya'll again later this summer.....Nigel
